As well as a new habitat for bugs  in our garden, we have a couple of new habitats in the classroom! First, we put stick insect eggs into a new home in type they will hatch. We will be keeping a close eye on them as the larvae are very small.

We had caterpillars arrive in the post also. They were very wriggly and we all had to work quickly to get them safely into their new homes. The children pushed caterpillar food into the bottom of each cup and then used a clean paintbrush to transfer each caterpillar into its own cup. Everyone has their own caterpillar to watch develop into a butterfly…watch this space for updates!
