Learning Objective: Name and identify different trees.

When you go on your daily walk today, have a look at different types of trees. take your red books with you and draw the different trees all on one page.

What do you notice about the trees?

How do you know they are different?

Are there any trees that have some things that are different and some things that are the same.

Look at the colours of the trunks and their leaves. The shape of the leaves on a tree help us to know what the tree is called.

As you are learning about plants, I thought you might like to watch Mrs O’Brien’s new video. The KS2 children were given sunflowers to grow and KS1 children were given cress seeds to grow.

Tell me three things you have learnt about sunflowers from Mrs O’Brien’s video. In the first chapter she talks about the different parts of plants and why they are important.

How are your cress seeds getting on? Remember to take lots of pictures and record what is happening in your Cress Diaries.

This half term, in Science, you will be learning all about plants. In your new Home Learning Packs you will have some seeds to plant and keep an eye on. There is also an exercise book for you to do your work in. You will be able to collect your new home learning packs on Friday 1st May. Your parents will be given a time to come to school to collect it.

Learning Objective: To name and describe the structure of a plant.

For now I would like you to read the information about plants and have a go at answering the questions. You can type the answers in the comments, email them to me or write them on a piece of paper.
