The Tempest
In Chapter 5 we discover that Salim played Ferdinand in his school’s production of The Tempest, so we are going to find out some more about it. Once we know the story a little better, I think we’ll understand why Siobhan Dowd chose to include it in The London Eye Mystery.

The Shipping Forecast
For Chapter 5, we need to find out about the Shipping Forecast. This is a special weather report that goes out everyday especially for ships at sea. You can only hear it if you get up super early, at 5:20 on BBC Radio 4.
The Shipping Forecast uses this special map, which divides the sea around Britain into 31 areas. They all have very interesting names. After you’ve watched the video, you can find out more about the names by clicking on the map and scrolling down.

Add you own shape somewhere on the map above and give it a name. You could even write a history of the area explaining how it got its name. Look of the names on the Wikipedia page for ideas.
