MY TURN
As I made my way into the forest I could see dark, twisted trees and a layer of soft, white mist covered the path. A light? Rain drops? flickered through the trees like a thousand splints of shards of glass. In the distance I could hear a pack of wolves, a lone wolf howling at the bright moon and the dry twigs cracked and rustled beneath my feet as I crept along. The icy wind swept across my face, stinging my cheeks. The smell of rotting leaves filled my nostrils but I walked on and pushed myself further into the darkness. Turning around, I caught a glimpse of a shape. Something evil? Something ominous moving towards me. I froze, still, like a statue paralysed. Suddenly, and without warning…a hunting owl burst from the tree with a loud hoot and flew above me like a white shadow.
