In R.E we have been learning about the importance of forgiveness and how forgiving people brings us closer to God. We played a game. We listened to the scenario and had to decide what we would do. We then had to give reasons for our choices. When we make the wrong choice, God will always forgive us if we are truly sorry.

This week is refugee week. We have listened to the story ‘My Name is not Refugee.’ We have listened to the testimonies of real people who have had to seek refuge due to war and climate changes. We made cards to show we support and welcome refugees as we are all children of God.

We made cards for the staff in school to say thank you for all the hard work that they do. We respect all jobs and people and understand the dignity of work in our school and in the world. We completed our jobs in school and earned stars for our hard work. We were given cheques for our stars and spent them in our pop up shop. We bought resources to make our cards extra special. The more stars we earned from working hard the more resources we could buy 🙂

Today we listened to the story of The Smeds and the Smoos. It teaches us to love and respect each other even though we are all different. This links with the work we have been doing in Our RE , TEN TEN lessons and through the dignity of work we have been learning about.

We had a class prayer service today. The theme was saying sorry and forgiveness. We listened to the story of Jonah and the Whale and saw that it was hard for Jonah to say sorry to God at first but when he did say sorry God forgave him. Our chaplains prepared our prayer area,it looks beautiful.

During DT this week we had to make a free standing, 3D structure using tape, cardboard and tubes. We had to make a chimney for Santa to climb up. It had to be sturdy so that he didn’t fall off. We had to provide a wide base for stability. We worked together in groups to complete the set task…

This week in design and technology we had to design and make a bridge for Mary and Joseph to walk over to get to Bethlehem. The bridge had to be strong enough to hold 8 blocks. We explored the brief, designed our bridge and then made it using paper and cubes.

Today in design and technology, we made our own 3D standing structures that are centrepieces for our tables during our upcoming Christmas workshop. We used kitchen rolls, cardboard, ova glue and tissue paper to decorate. We think they look amazing
