“Quote of the Day” –  Handwriting Practice

G K Chesterton (1875 – 1936) was a writer, poet and philosopher. Chesterton was a great thinker and a genius at seeing what was true and what was not. Whenever he saw something that was wrong, he spoke out against it. For example, he was one of the first to understand how evil and dangerous Hitler was. Chesterton became a Catholic in 1922. It is a very strange thing about England that Chesterton is much more famous in America than he is here. There have even been calls for him to be made a saint. I’m not sure he would like that idea. Chesterton had a very big influence on C S Lewis and J R R Tolkien.

Music: ‘Nimrod’ by Edward Elgar, England’s most famous composer.

Can you think of something that is ‘right’ but people aren’t doing it? Or something that was very wrong, but lots of people did it anyway? This quote is telling us to listen to our conscience and do what is right, no matter what people say.

    1. Oh and sir in our reading journal do we have to write in pencil because I looked back at our old work and i saw we did them in pens but not bright ones.

        1. These go in the Red exercise book you got in the HW pack. English in the
front, handwriting in the back. 🙂

      1. Hi Shahd, sorry about the late reply, we had some problems with BGFL.
IF it’s in your reading journal you can use colours, but just be careful
to use colours you can read clearly. I you can’t read it, there’s no
        point in writing it.. 🙂

          1. I think it was in your second HW pack Shahd. It looks just like your school English exercise book.

  1. Hello Sir you know the second homework pack there is some maths I need to complete but I have ran out of squared paper what should I do ? should I leave it?

    1. Hello Shahd, You should have got a big stapled lot of squared paper in your
third HW pack because I knew you would need more. Can you double check?
