Independently, one of the prayer groups in Year 4 planned a prayer service for years 2, 4 and 4. As usual, they showed much creativity, reverence and understanding.

They asked questions such as why did Jesus feed the 5,000?

What does this teach us about how we should treat each other?

In Year 4, we have created fact files about different animals. First, we read about and researched animals of our choice. Within our collection, you will find fact files about: fish, horse, snakes and many more. We created this fact file because others might not know anything about the animals that are living on the earth.

Last week, as part of multi-faith week, we visited the synagogue which is a place of worship for Jews.

“It was a privilege going to the synagogue as I got to learn lot about the Jewish people,” AM, Y4.

Today, Year 4 made catalan bread to celebrate Spanish Day in school. They were also experts for the day, they taught Reception and Year 2 some Spanish too.

You all did very well – sharing your knowledge with others. It has been a wonderful day, thanks to you all.

This half term, Year 4 have been exploring the growth and needs of plants. We set up and monitored our very own science experiment. The independent variable was the amount of light which the plants received – one plant was in the shade, the other was in a lighter condition.

What do plants need to grow?

We monitored the growth of these plants after several week and have now gained clarity on what plants need to grow.

Last week, Year 4 did a biscuit sale to raise money for Lent. Year 4 did well contributing biscuits and selling them also.

A big ‘Thank you!’ to all of the children and staff who supported the sale.

Year 4 have been using their research skills to find information out about plants. They have been using the Internet to research and have presented their work using PowerPoint Presentation and have been gaining information from a selection of books also.

Year 4 have enjoyed drawing symmetrical patterns and grouping shapes (according to their properties) during their week of Geometry.
