We just love to read…
We love to read many different types of text in year 1. We even love a news paper! 😂
2 digit numbers
Today we have been making two digit numbers. There are lots of different ways we can represent them!
Black Country Living Museum
Year 1 and 2 had so much fun at the Black Country Living Museum. They learnt a lot about how to compare the past to the present. Take a look at how they learnt and the exciting activities they were able to do. We even tried some good old fashioned chips from the fish and chip shop!
Traction Man’s new cape
Traction Man needed a new cape. He asked us to find the best material for him. We found out that; paper capes rip very easily; tin foil capes are not comfortable to wear and cling film capes just stick together. Finally, we found that fabric is the best material to make a cape out of because it flows smoothly when running to save someone!
We welcome Refugees
Catherine came to visit us. She is a volunteer who helps people to feel welcome in our country. We learnt that some people come to England because they are scared of their own countries. We made cards to give to their children to make them feel welcome.
Castle construction
Today we reconstructed boxes ready to make our castles this week.
Question: why did we turn the, inside out?
The Prodigal Son
On Thursday, we learnt the parable of the Prodigal Son. It is all about forgiving. Forgiving makes us feel better.
What at is a parable?
Making soup fit for a princess
On Tuesday, we made soup for Elizabeth. She is the paper bag princess. We thought that she may be cold so we made her soup and tried it before we send her recipe. Let’s hope it keeps her war, until we can build a new castle.
The Royal Wedding
After learning all all about princesses and castles, we watched the royal wedding. The children were amazed when they saw a real princess. She looked beautiful!
