After looking at the front cover of the book Moon Man by Tomi Ungerer, C wrote a beautiful story using some of the great features of writing which Year 4 have been learning.
A super effort!

As part of the celebration of Black History Week, Year 4 learnt about Harriet Tubman’s contribution to the world.
We created timelines of Harriet’s life events, individually.
Collectively, we produced a classroom display.
Harriet’s mother nicknamed her ‘Minty’ as her birth name was Araminta Ross.
She was a religious woman who told others that she communicated with God, even more so, after she was hit in the head with a stone.
Year 4 have worked extremely hard during the first half term and look at the amazing work which they have produced. Well done Year 4!
During our Prayer Service this week, we discussed the importance of friendship. We shared who our friends are within the class and expressed why. This was a time in which we felt really appreciated and loved.
We then decorated keys which are our ‘keys to friendship’. The keys show who our friends are and why they are so loved by us.
We have been learning about number and place value over the last four weeks. Here are a few things which have helped us with our learning. Paper number lines and paper clips have helped us to visually represent a number on a number line. This has also helped us with rounding numbers to the nearest ten, hundred and thousand.
What is LIX rounded to the nearest 10? Round it to the nearest 100.
You can ask your own challenging questions too.
Year 4 have been using their previous knowledge of connecting a circuit to make a bulb light up. We used wires, bulbs, a battery and clips to complete the circuit. Soon to come is our lit up tin forest.
We have been reading a brilliant story by Helen Ward called The Tin Forest so we have been making our own forests. Take a look. Let us know what you think. Soon, you will see our completed forests.
