Advent has begun at St.Vincent’s with a wonderful assembly by Mr. Mulligan. We are opening our advent presents and have made our advent promises. This afternoon every class began to create their prayer areas ready for the coming of the Messiah.
St. Vincent’s ended our Year of Mercy with a prayer service. We thought about the life of Zaccheus and how he changed from a sinner to a disciple. We thought about what we had achieved in the year and how we are going to continue the acts of Mercy forever.
Year 3 performed an assembly about Rememberance day today and how we should never forget the people that sacrificed themselves for this country.
Year 3 were today studying the four Gospels and looking at different miracles and parables which can be found in them. They found it quite hard! However, they were improving and now need to keep practising!
Well done to all the Staff and children for producing such wonderful displays for the Hall based on different Bible Stories.
Our work on the virtues of being Curious and Active in our faith.
He’s got the Whole World in his Hands sang on Nigeria Day.
Today at school we had a pupil prayer service led by some children in year 6 for years 2, 4 and 6. The prayer service continued to look at our virtues of curious and active. The children acted out the story of David and Goliath which showed how David had so much faith in God. We want to have the same faith and be the rocks for Jesus in our school. We will be active in our love for one another.
The children in Year 5 led a prayer service on saying thank you to God for Years 1, 3 and 5. They read the story of the ten lepers and the classes then created a flower to say thank you to God.
The children in year 6 visited St. Chad’s for a pilgrimage based on the Year of Mercy. The children embraced this occasion by reading, praying and engaging actively in the service.
