Today, we investigated the length of shadows… We are starting to use our enquiry skills to the maximum.

The children in year 3 learnt their shared writing of a Recount of the Tin Forest. Here it is:  

Today we enjoyed investigating how light travels. We learnt about how certain materials let light through them and some do not!

In our class book, we are reading the Tin Forest. In the story, an old man has an idea and builds a Tin forest and today in year 3 we built our own tin forest. here they are afterwards.

The children in year 3 love maths games. These types of games have really helped themcomparing numbers.

The children in year 3 have been planting flowers and bulbs in their outdoor garden area to make the world a better place. Our hands were dirty afterwards though!

In year 3, we have been learning about place value. We are focusing on Hundreds, tens and units but also beginning to look at thousands! Here are some photos of us using place value counters to make hundreds.
