Half term reading
And so the book-a-thon starts year 3 . This is the first book that I shall be reading over half term by the author Dick King-Smith. Have you read any of his books?
Art Exhibition 19.10.16
Thank you to all of the parents and friends that came to year 3’s art exhibition to raise money to adopt a pig. We have raised enough money to adopt a pig for a year so far. We are just going through the paper work with the charity.
Creating masterpieces
Year 3 are creating beautiful spiderweb art using a technique with melted wax or wax crayons and paint. They have been very successful and are nearly ready to go on sale on Wednesday. Please come and visit us from 2.30pm to view your children’s art work. You can purchase your child’s art work for £1.50. All proceeds go to the animal adoption agency to help to look after a pig. Just like Wilbur in the story we have been reading, Charlotte’s Web.
Smarties in maths?! Who would have thought it?
Today we classified smarties based on their colour and then totaled them. We recorded the data how we best thought. How else could we present this data?
We are mathematicians!
Can an you explain what we were doing in this lesson and why we were doing it?
Argh!
The pirate writing crew have been using props and costumes to help them to write pirate character descriptions.
New books!!
Well Year 3, you asked for new and better books in the cosy corner so I have been shopping …
Hopefully the new books will keep us motivated to look after the cosy corner better.
What are you reading?
We are now well settled into the half term and it is the weekend. I have missed you all but I am sure that you have done me proud! I am at home and already relaxing with my fluffy pjs on! My favourite way to get cosy and read a book. I must admit this is the first time that I have started a book this school year, other than Charlotte’s Web in class. I think it is about time that I read every night again, just like you!
Today I was lucky enough to meet the author of this book. She inspired me by reading the first page out loud!
